Blackberry Bold 9000 Mobile Phone Review

Click With the Smart Camera Phone

Blackberry first came into the market in 1997 as a two-way Pager, and was first introduced by a company called Research in Motion. Today Blackberry Bold features push e-mail, Internet faxing, web browsing, along with other services offered by wireless phones, and is considered to be one of the best Smart phones available in the market. It is also a mobile telephone which supports incoming and outgoing calls, text messaging, a 2-Megapixel camera with flash with a digital zooming capability, and video recording.

The Blackberry Bold 9000has HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS. It has a full QWERTY keypad, and a screen with bright resolution. The screen size of the mobile phone is a 2.6 inch panel, which is slightly larger than the Curve's 2.4inch. The width of the screen measures 2.25 inches, as compared to 1.5 inches of that of the Curve. While the Curve has a VGA resolution of 320 x 240 pixels, the Blackberry Bold features 480 x 320 pixels display, which is an increase of almost half of that of the Curve. If you hold your current Blackberry next to the Bold, you would most certainly be tempted to invest in this sophisticated mobile Smartphone.

In the mobile world there are two devices which could be pitted against each other. The first one being the Blackberry Bold and the second is the iPhone. There is a general user perception that the Blackberry Bold has the clearest and sharpest picture, and with its black leather-like back, chrome border and sides, and a black face, the device looks as impressive as its unparallel features. On the other hand, iPhone has a unique design, which has made it an iconic device, making it a device to be easily recognised. One of the greatest advantages of Blackberry Bold is its QWERTY keyboard, which is easy to handle, and this feature is one of the attractions for business users.

The Blackberry Bold 9000does not have a FM Radio, and is not a touch screen device. The device has a nominal 2 mega-pixel camera with an in-built flash unit, having a resolution of 480 x 320. The features include a GPS along with Blackberry maps, and the device has geo-tagging feature which lets you tag your photos with relevant geographical areas. The iPhone also has a 2 mega-pixel camera, with geo-tagging feature, and also includes third-party application integration.

The Bold has its HSSPA modem and applications processor located on single chip. This makes the battery life of the device go far, extending the stand-by time to 13 days, with 5 hours of talk time. On the other hand, the battery of the iPhoneprovides a talk-time upto 5 hours when used in 3G mode, or 10 hours while using the device as 2G. The stand-by time is 300 hours, with 6 hours of Wi-Fi Internet use, seven hours of video playback and up to 24 hours of audio playback.

When it comes to measuring the looks Vs the performing features, Blackberry Bold crosses the expectations of any user, including designer expectations, and obviously the market expectations. The features of the Blackberry Bold betters every competitor rating, and even for users having an older version of Blackberry would not be able to willingly put down one Blackberry Boldin favour of their old ones.

Polarising Filters for bright-blue-sky

Polarising filters change the way that camera sees and treats light. Change in how camera sees reflections and glare. As a result it also has the ability to change the vibrancy of some colors in shots.

Use polarising filters for:

Water
- When shooting a picture of water adjusting your polarising filter will mean you see into the water differently, cutting out glare and even changing the colour of the water. made the water look crystal clear and a bright blue color. Without the filter the shots had nowhere near the same impact with a big reflection being picked up off the top of the water and a more murky color.

Sky - Similarly, the color of sky can change remarkably using a polarising filter. Rotating the filter you’ll see a blue sky change from a light pale blue color to a vibrant and deep blue color (depending upon where the sun is). A polarising filter can cut out a lot of the smoggy haze that is often in city shots.

Using a Polarizing Filter

Simply rotating the front element of the filter. As you do this you’ll notice that colors and reflections in your shot change. Once you’ve got it to a point that you like simply take the shot.

For the greatest impact try to keep the sun at 90° to you ( to your side - not at your back and not shooting into the sun). This will help polarizer to have the greatest effect.

Shooting in low light, overcast days or at night with a polarizer is not advisable - it’s like wearing sunglasses indoors and will cut down the amount of light getting through to your image sensor.

Where to buy

If you're in EU, Quelle have huge collection of polarization filters

Opel don't have own bank accout?

Opel, the big car company from Germany which merged with General Motor USA about 3 years ago nearly couldn't survive in this global financial crisis.

I just read from Husumer Nachtrichten today that government have decided to support them with some milliard of euro to anticipate that they will not take out their employees.

Parliament did agree, then the process began... And this is a big news for today; now they know that Opel, such kind of big car producer company, doesn't have own bank account. So government couldn't transfer the money to them.

So who is the owner of Opel's bank account? General Motor!
And government refused to transfer money directly to them.

Do you know, your blog can earn money

Few days ago i met a friend of mine and he asked me why don't i make money with my blog? i laughed, i told him that i don't want to infected my visitor's eyes with horrible-colorful flashed advertisements in every places and angles on the page. I would like my blog look clean without ads.

He said it is possible to do it like i want. Then he told me what he did with his blog (he just got some money from advertise on blogs) and gave me a link how to do.

First, take a look at this site; http://www.payingpost.com then come back again here, i would tell you something why should we do it; Yes, it is a site what i would like to write about today.

Well, as a webmaster i never leave a site without look carefully to their template, at least it give me reference for my next project. And to tell the truth, at the first time i opened this site, Mmm... their template is really bloggish, look like a blog of a mother or a lady from anywhere (take a look at the fonts they used for website name. you know what i mean...)
But i knew why it should be, they work together with blogger, i mean their business is for blogger (publisher) like us so they try to give us a warm impression to make their template similar like our template, not look like template from other advertiser companies.
And they've got us. Clever idea!

Back to the topic; After read carefully on that site, i knew how it work. Just simple as it should be.

You know most of everyday we write to our blog, about anything what we like. Sometimes i like to wrote about my experience used a product which i just discovered, or i wrote about a site which i like or just opposite... And you to... And you know it is fun... leisure... And you like it...

What about change a plan little bit? We still write what we want to write on our blog, about anything like before, and for few hours a day, or at the day we don't know what topic we should write about (Is that happen to you to?) we take a time to review a product or a website on our blog. And the nice thing of this part, we will get payment. It is nice idea, isn't it?

That is exactly what i mean in my post today; Blogging like before, fun, leisure and get payment. In this stage you should read this article from their blog http://www.payingpost.com/blog/how-to

Ah yes, they have complete tutorial about it on their blog, make sure you check it out. http://www.payingpost.com/blog

Their how-to blog is very useful as we just starting this task. Anyway you can ask them directly to every article there as a comment, or using their live-chat service if necessary.

As the last paragraph for today, before you submit your blog there, make sure your blog is older than 90 days, have fresh updated contents continuously and use English as main language of your blog. Then i am sure your blog will be accepted and you can start earn money with blogging. Nothing more exciting than that, or?

Happy blogging!

Guide To Buying A Mobile Phone

by: Paul Smith

If you already have a mobile phone, you can switch to a different network and take your phone number with you, although you may need a different handset. You could get a connection with a new number, using your existing handset.

Networks
When you buy a phone you need to choose a network - O2, Vodafone, Orange and T-mobile are mobile phone networks. Each network is a collection of radio towers all over the country, linked together and transmitting people's conversations.
A mobile phone service usually comes as a package, made up of the phone itself and access to a network. There are five main mobile phone networks in the UK - O2, T-Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and most recently '3' with its growing third generation network which can support mobile video. Other operators such as Virgin and BT Mobile use the 5 main networks and there are many airtime resellers dealing with one or all the networks. They offer two ways of using their services; by "pay as you go" or by monthly line rental. If you do not intend to make a great number of calls from a mobile phone, a pay as you go package may suffice but any reasonably regular use (especially during business hours) probably warrants a monthly package - which package will depend on the volume of calls you anticipate making.
You don't need to put pen to paper for most mobile phone contracts nowadays, but they are still legally binding. Contracts can be 'signed' over a website or over the phone.
The network should be the first thing you choose when you're starting out. Your choice of network will decide where you get good coverage, and how good the customer service is. Some networks have better coverage in particular areas than others, but customer service varies from day to day, depending on demand.

Price plans
Next, decide whether you want a pay as you go phone or a traditional contract arrangement.
Pre-pay, where you pay (usually by buying vouchers) before you make calls. There is no risk of a high bill, but sometimes this is an expensive option, adding vouchers can be inconvenient and you may run out of credit during an important call.
Pay as you go packages are useful if you only expect to use your mobile occasionally, and are cost effective if you expect to receive a lot of calls, but not to make many. But you should be aware that some companies set an expiry date on their credits, meaning that the credit must be used in the time allocated.
Contract - where you get a bill each month, but the call charges are usually lower, and there are more facilities offered.
With rental you pay a monthly fee in the same way as you would for a land line. Many monthly rental packages include some inclusive call minutes or talktime
Monthly line rental costs from around £6, with a wide range of call-plans available. Look at several to work out which is best for you, and to ensure you spend the least amount of money relative to the use you expect to make of the service. Spending more on your monthly call-plan will result in more inclusive minutes, and calls made with inclusive minutes tend to be cheaper then calls made outside of the call-plan Generally, paying higher line rental gets you cheaper call charges
Before you commit yourself, check whether you can change contracts later as your usage and circumstances may change.
When you buy a phone, it is subsidised by the network or service provider, the higher your monthly fees the cheaper the phone will be. A mobile phone can be included 'free' when bought as part of a subsidised package, but without the subsidy even a basic model would cost at least £70, and you could pay £300 or more for the latest models with WAP access, GPRS and Bluetooth or other mobile data features. Expect to pay more for the handset with a pay as you go package because you are also getting a line but without a monthly rental charge and minimum contract.

Choosing the handset

There are lots of different phones to choose between. Read the Handsets section before deciding.
Once you have seen all the information here, and decided what you want, find a good mobile phone shop mad4mobilephones.com offers excellent value, superb service, and provided you with this information!
See the mad4mobilephones.com web site for information about the wide range of phones available.
Some users are far more interested in gadgets than others, as a general rule you should get a phone with as many feature as you think you will need. If you think you need lots of features then there are plenty of mobile phones to suit you.
You should also be careful before opting for some of the pay-as-you go deals. Some use phones that skimp on features for the sake of cost cutting.
Look for a phone with good battery life, the phone should get you easily through a full day or weekend of normal use.
The most important thing is to choose a good mobile phone shop, mad4mobilephones.com can provide you with some good deals, check out the site for more information.....

Understanding Save Image in Photoshop

Main rule: Don't upload Photo/Image for print to website/blog and don't print Image/Photo which saved for website.

After editing a photo or image, then i will ask myself, for what will i use this image/photo? will i print it, or upload it to website/blog.

Saving image for web or other device is a bit different. Maybe you ever had experience to try to open a website or blog then you recognise there was so slow your browser to load a page, in other time you find another page is very quick loaded. It is because browser download a page per byte per second, and images/photos have biggest amount of it.

I will not wait till a wonderful pictures in a page load if it takes too much time. 15 seconds is maximum. So don't let your visitor leave your blog because of it. Adjusting your pictures for the web/blog is a vital task.

Open Photoshop (If you don't have it you can download 30 days trial version from their website). After finish edit your photo/image then go to: File > Save for Web & Device...

New window appear. At the top-right you can choose file format in GIF, JPG or PNG or WBMP. Then look at the right-bottom of the screen, under "Image Size" you can specify width and heigh of your image in pixel.

At the left-bottom of the screen you should see new specification of your image: Format, size and faster of download in Kbps (kilo byte per second).

Look on the main screen of the window where your image appear, if you satisfied with the result then hit "Save".

Image above i saved with this technique and compressed in JPG format to be 10Kb from its original size 1,46Mb. Need only 3 seconds to download at 56.6Kbps internet speed.

Note: Save image for web and device will compress images. The images will loose lot of details and deep of field (in Photograph) but still look nice on screen. And the result look brighter in this way. It is better than visitor leave your blog because of heavy loading, eh?

Still don't have Photoshop? Here is i added some links to Adobe site:

Traveller, don't bring your money to Indonesia

This article based on my experience during visited Indonesia November until December last year.

The case is; i live and work in Germany, i want to make holiday to Indonesia, i have a bank account in Germany, i don't have a credit card and i don't like to bring cash with me.

After everything was OK (Flight ticket, etc... mmm... i don't need Indonesian Visa, i think, as long as i am an Indonesian, lol!) then i asked to my bank what should i do in this case. The easiest way, they offer me to request a credit card by them. I disagree with this way. Then they suggest me to buy Travel Check from them, i said i don't like very much to use travel check.

She asked me if there is a cirrus or maestro Logo on my Debit card, yes, i saw Cirrus standing there and then she said, "Just easy, go to Indonesia, use your card to ATM Machine there which accept Cirrus Logo"

"Just easy like that? are you sure?" I asked her. And she said it is so, no need to worry about it.
I asked her if it is so, why she offered me to request a credit card and travel cheque before. She laughed, "I only tried to sell our service to you, Mr. Vater...!"

Came in Cengkareng airport, which is international airport in Jakarta, i looked around to find ATM machine. Well there were ATM center in the corner with lot of machines from different banks. I choice one, BCA ATM with CIRRUS logo standing there - Which i familiar with this bank few years ago during i lived here -

"We are sorry, we're unable to process your transaction." On screen. No money came out, but my card.

Scheiße... i don't have money anymore, only some euros in my pocket, how can i explore this my own country without money? should i go to my mother and ask for money?

Try to the next machine, BNI ATM with Cirrus Logo, inserted my card, then PIN number, then choice how much will i take.... Hurray...! i get money! in Rupiah! Not Euro anymore!

Back to Germany, received transaction report from my bank, i recognised that the exchange rate from Euro to Rupiah with this Cirrus much better that I've got from money changer there. And charged only 4€ per transaction.

Note: I should change my title above with "traveller, don't bring your cash to Indonesia" with sub title "bring your Debit Card instead"

Here is link from Maestro card to find ATM location worldwide

Make Screenshot and Symbols on Mac OS X

The easiest way to make screenshot is use combination of command (Apple symbol) + Shift + 3. Press them together, then the screenshot saved on desktop and ready to use.

Click F11 to go to desktop, double click on it to open (oh yes, the screenshot saved with name Image1, or if it already exist there, then it will saved as image2, image3... and so on).

What about making symbols such Curly Bracket, Square bracket and so on?
Instead of find them on Character Palett (take the time, you know), i prefer tu use button combination:

Left Square Bracket; " [ " = "alt+5"
Right Square Bracket; " ] “ = "alt+6"
Vertical Line; " | " = "alt+7"
Left curly bracket ; " { " = "alt+8"
Right curly bracket; " } " = "alt+9"
Reverse Solidus; " \ " = "alt+shift+7"

Got it?

Make your Photo Sharp like Nirvana

After photo shooting or photo walking or whatever you say, then you will edit the result. Ok, i am not a purist, i always edit my photo before print it or publish them on the web. So i have to make sure my photos will be sharp like nirvana, well... sharpening using Photoshop.

Which photos need to be sharpened? all of them!

1. Open photoshop. go to top menu: filter > Sharpen > Unsharp mask...
Don't be confused, Unsharp Mask is not filter to make your photos look blury, just opposite.
2. New unsharp mask window appear. There is three parameters to set. And here is i have experimented to give best result.

unsharp mask

  • For people: Amount 150%, Radius 1, threshold 10
  • For travel or cityscapes photography: Amount 65%, Radius 3, threshold 2
  • For daily use: Amount 85%, Radius 1, threshold 4

3. Dont forget to click "Ok" or the result dont affect to your photograph.

That is, and now you may spread your photograph to the whole of the world...

...But, your photo still look blurry? Ok, here is another tip to make your Photo look very sharp like Super Nirvana ( This technique only done with full version of Photoshop )

Channel

1. Go to top menu and click Image > Mode > Lab Color
2. Go to Channel Palette on the right side of the screen. If it is not there then go to top menu; Window > click "channel"
3. On the channel pallete click lightness. It will make your photo black and white and all of setting that you will make will affect the detail, not the color. Thats why you will get really sharp photo without halo effect or mixing strange color on your photo.
4 Now apply Unsharp Mask filter like above. Do it 2 times. If your photo appear too sharp, go to Edit > fade Unsharp Mask. In the dialog window turn the Opacity slider to 50%.
5. Go to top menu, choose Image > Mode > RGB Color... and you're done.

Are your Photos still not sharp enough? I think you have forgotten the first step of this technique: Always use your tripod! Whenever and to whatever you take photograph...

Don't have Photoshop? follow this link to download trial version:Creative Suite 4 Trial Version. (Photoshop inside)

What is God?

I never though about it before; what is God? maybe because i grew up in the strong believer of family, it is just so, God already exist in the very bottom of my heart without asked the existence of Him even since i was born. Until yesterday evening, after meeting with one of my client in Hamburg, then he invited me to ate dinner in a restaurant on the harbour.

That was nice evening, we talked about this and that, music, movie and so on with a little bit theme about a project that i am doing for his company.
He asked me something about the website that i made for them, i forgotten what exactly the question but it was something like he worried about security and how to manage this site in the future.

I laughed to made him relax and without thinking i said... "Don't worry, i am a god of my creations, i will manage it..."

He smiled, and asked me if i am a believer, i said yes and he asked me what God is. Well i stop to eat, take a glass of wine, and think, what God is. I never got a question like this in the whole of my life. Still thinking about it and... Well, God is untouchable, never be born and never be die... he has a very big power to create this space, manage and then destroy it at the end of the world...

next question, what is God look like? And i answer, sorry, i also never saw him, it just in my heart, and i believe it.

He asked me if i mind if he told his opinion about God, i said i am a very open minded person even if you are an atheist.
Yes, he is an atheist and his opinion about God made me laugh and... still thinking ( up to now )

He said, if he have to (for some reason) be a believer, then he will think that god is something like a very big database stored in a very very large hard disk in some office in somewhere. This database is very complex and record everything from unknown time.
So you - yes, me - was recorded in this database, your file title is your name, in this file stored all data's when will you born, what should you do in your live and when you have to die. and then with some script (He told me, like me to use some script for my web programming) God process this file to be reality, to be you and me, to be the whole world, and space...

Then he stop to talk about God. And i am still thinking about it until end of our dinner, until back to hotel, until now.

Oh my God...

Missing Extract Tool on Photoshop CS4

I just purchase Photoshop CS4 ( Well, it is bundle of Creative Suite 4 Design Premium) and since yesterday i tried out, what is new, but still in Photoshop, not yet to the other applications.

As you know, Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection 4 contains applications such Acrobat 9 Pro, Bridge, Contribute, Device Central, DreamWeaver, Drive, Extention Manager, Firework, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, media Encoder and Photoshop.

In general it is - of course - much faster and better than older version.
But, what i didn't expect was when i would like to isolate my pic from its background to move it to the other background using Extract Tool, it was not there.

Of course there are several ways to do it like use quick selection tool or "select>color range" and so on but my favourite tool to do it is Extract Tool.

So, is this tool dead? is this tool don't supported in CS4 anymore? it is really pity.

Searched, well i found it! this tool is not included in the package anymore but you can download by yourself from adobe site as additional plug-in. Here is the link: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4047 ( For Mac )

Here is i added some links to Adobe site:
To download trial version, follow this link: Creative Suite 4 trial version

To purchase Adobe Product for EU, follow this link: Europe - Adobe Store
Or if you're student, go to following link to get special price: Adobe UK Education Store

Note: Image above (the cartoon) was extracted from its background used Extract Tool then i moved it to the new background which i made with gradient and 5 kind of brushes.
Anyway, happy valentine day!
